    We are currently seeking a VP of Sales to support Florida working out of our West Palm Beach office. 


    We are looking for dedicated and self-motivated individuals who are passionate about the Beer Industry! The position will ensure that Brown Distributing’s Sales Division is compliant with all BDC policies and with set standards. This position will manage and service functions of BDC so that it achieves its goal of being the service leader in all accounts.




    • The VP of Sales has ultimate responsibility for relationships and compliance.
    • Along with the direct Supervisor, the VP of Sales is the primary contact for suppliers. Must be available to key suppliers, be up to date on internal and external performance and trends, and ensure that all communication is disseminated to the appropriate recipients within BDC’s Sales Divisions.

    Supervisory / Training & Development

    • Provide accountability of Directors - managing out of code & C.P.R. issues & policies.
    • The VP of Sales will provide timely and quality feedback by performing evaluations and annual performance appraisal of each of his direct reports.
    • Ensure the sales department is properly staffed to provide the service levels dictated by BDC’s service policy and company goals.
    • As part of the 70% - 80% time in the market objective, the VP of Sales must work in the market with each of his direct reports and sales reps as required to achieve BDC’s objectives.

    Sales and Marketing

    • Working with his/her team to identify and exploit areas in the market where BDC can improve sales and overall competitive position.
    • Assist in identifying consumer and retail trends in the market that will position Brown Distributing’s brands to win in the market.
    • Work with the VP of Operations to be aware of any exceptions to the company’s delivery standards or plans daily.
    • Improve focus on identifying current and appropriate P.O.S., display, shelf space, pricing, and distribution opportunities.
    • Assist in the development of the Brown Distributing’s standards.
    • Assist in the monitoring of sales trends in applicable accounts to ensure objectives are properly allocated and representative of Brown Distributing’s sales goals.
    • Participate in Sales Calls to achieve development of new business in existing Brown Distributing’s accounts.
    • Assist in sales meetings as needed to address Brown Distributing’s brand performance, plans, price promotions and opportunities. Also, to provide product knowledge training as needed in sales meetings.
    • Must work to establish strong market relationships and to develop new business with key retailers.

    Market Service, Distribution & Pricing

    • Work with Directors to develop brand strategies and work with them to implement those strategies through programs and incentives.
    • The VP of Sales has ultimate responsibility for the local Market Plan. The marketing plan will require the input of various sales managers and department heads.
    • The VP of Sales is personally responsible for recommending all pricing planning/strategy. He/She will work with the BDC pricing analyst to best meet the needs of market.
    • Responsible for managing all price discount planning and execution.
    • Maintain and Manage Sales Marketing Budget. Responsible for keeping budget in line and continuing to look for productivity improvements within Budget.  Work with On & Off Premise Directors to help create and track budget.


    • Ensure full use of the route accounting software, Encompass.
    • The VP of Sales will conduct sales management team meeting with his/her direct reports. In this meeting he/she will review sales performance, personnel issues, supplier compliance, delivery performance, draught issues, inventory code date status, and other sales and service related information as required.
    • Attend all Brown Distributing Company management meetings as required.
    • Maintain and Manage Sales Marketing Budget. Responsible for keeping budget in line and continuing to look for productivity improvements within Budget. Work with General Managers to help create and track budget.
    • Work with director Supervisor to set and track Yearly Department Objectives.

    • Ability to obtain a Wine and Spirits License
    • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license with a clean driving record

    Education and/or Experience

    • Four year Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year; minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the Beverage Industry Sales, preferably Specialty and craft Sales
